Stanford University founded in 1891 located in the heart of Silicon Valley between San Francisco and San Jose is one of the world’s top and leading teaching and research organization dedicated in providing excellence in education, finding solutions to big challenges and to prepare scholars for leadership in complex world. The University is soon going to celebrate its 125 year’s anniversary this year. Its location and architecture is also an attraction to students which is built in 8180 acres of land.

Stanford has quarter-based education calendar. According to university there are 6994 undergraduate and 9128 graduate students enrolled in different faculties. There are around 2100 faculty members, student-faculty ratio at Stanford is 4:1 which a plus point is for its 97 percent undergraduate students living on campus.
Stanford University teaches under seven-schools of Humanities and Sciences, Engineering, Business, Law, Medicine, Education and Earth Sciences to offer highly regarded degree programs which is suitable for the students and allow them freedom to explore their potential and personal passion.  The majors with highest enrollment are Computer Science, Human Biology, Engineering, Biology and Science-Technology and Society. When applying to Stanford do remember that the last date to apply in Stanford is January third and the early action deadline is first November. Only the brightest and talented are selected, the acceptance rate is only 5 percentage.

Stanford offers various facilities and services to the students like placement service, women’s center, tutoring, health service and health insurance. Other services that the college offers are like 24-hour foot and vehicle patrols for the safety of students and the university, 24-hour telephone service, the dormitory is also controlled for the safety of students.

For the needy and deserving students the university also provides scholarship who apply for it. Around 48 percent of the full time undergraduates received scholarship.
