Northwestern University is a privately owned education institution founded in 1851. It is among the most reputed universities in the United States for its education and programs. It is located in Evanston, Illinois just about 30 minutes outside Chicago. It has 240 acres land in which there state of the art buildings and historic buildings, several hundred varieties of trees, grasses and flowers. The university’s main campuses are located in Evanston and Chicago which are 12 miles apart but bordered by a Great Lake. The international campus of the university is located in Qatar which is Doha’s education city.

Northwestern University utilizes quarter based academic calendar and offers a vast range of academic choices. It has 190+ majors and more than 4000 majors, minors, certificate and concentrations however you can design your own course of study in the Northwestern University.

It has six undergraduate schools providing education in communication, arts and sciences, journalism and integrated marketing communications and music. Northwestern also offers students with choices of more than 130 abroad study programs in 50 countries. The students are not confined into studying the majors created by the university, they have freedom to make their own major.  

For the undergraduate studies, the university has nine schools and ten offer graduate and professional studies. Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management, School of Education and Social Policy, School of Law, Fienberg School of Medicine, Interdepartmental Biological Sciences Program, and McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Sciences are highly ranked graduate schools.
Popular majors of the university are Economics, Journalism, Biology, Psychology, Drama and Theater Arts. Around 76% class have less than 20 students. It offers scholarship and financial aid to the needy and deserving students. About 44% of full-time undergraduate students get some are getting some kind of scholarship from the university.

The University has 3 campuses, 12 schools and colleges where there are 21000 students enrolled. And to help the students gain knowledge and expand their mind there are 3334 full-time faculty members. The student-faculty ratio of the university is 7:1. It has 19 intercollegiate athletic teams and there are more than 500 student organizations and club.
